DMK's 9th Annual Carnival Ball

Amanda attended DMK's 9th Annual Carnival Choreographer's Ball on January 30, 2008, but this is the first time I've seen or heard of this appearance.

DMK is part night club and part talent show that showcases dancers at a yearly event. Hairspray director Adam Shankman was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Be Kind Rewind lifted from Blockblister?

This hilarious article from Defamer highlights the work of a Youtube user who suggests that Michel Gondry, the filmmaker behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind the upcoming Be Kind Rewind lifted the idea for his new movie from Amanda's Blockblister sketch from The Amanda Show.

Finally an update and it's a good one. Amanda was at the premiere of Will Ferrel's new movie, Semi Pro, yesterday February 19, 2008. This is the second premiere of Ferrel's that Amanda has attended. Everything about her looks great!

American Idol: 'it's good television'

Last night the top 24 males peformed in the first live 2 hour episode of season 7 of American Idol. Amanda dishes to MTV News:

"It's just good television. You watch it and you see people kind of put themselves out there, and it's kind of a little bit like a car crash where you're like [she winces], but you have to watch. But some people are amazing. And seeing Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson and all these great artists that I love come out of it, you see that it's just a great opportunity for artists to sort of get noticed."

These comments tie in perfectly because the first friend of Amanda Bynes News is the very first fansite for my favorite contestant this year, David Archuleta. Only 17 years old, he is extremely talented, humble, and confident and even better than some of his competition who are more than 10 years older than him! Visit the site today!

Bynes Behind the Scenes

A blogger named Matt Havoc was in studio when Amanda made this appearance to promote Sydney White on Fox 6 back in September. He wrote about what she was like before and after the cameras were off.

I happened to have been there at the studio as the interview was taking place, and I thought it was interesting to hear some of the comments that were mentioned during the interview. At one point she had mentioned that the roles that she is currently involved in are adult roles without the risque behavior, of course. Now what was interesting about this soundbite was that she was purposely sat behind the news desk for the interview because she was wearing a mini-skirt that morning and the crew was concerned about the camera shots. Who could blame the crew for wanting to avoid an accidental camera shot?

However, despite the unique choice of clothing that she had worn for the interview I must admit that she seems like an extremely nice person. Marc (the anchorman) had mentioned in passing during the interview about her be ultra nice with his daughter who was also at the studio, but it's true. She was hanging out in the hallway and was just hanging out with his daughter. While she was at the station she did appear to be super cool and down to Earth with everyone, which is refreshing to see with the celebrities.

After her appearance on the show and seeing her handle herself behind the scenes I must admit that Amanda seems to be a really cool person. I do agree with Marc's point of talking about how well she's able to keep her life [from] run[ning] a muck like certain other young celebrities have done. It's not like I am attempting to mention Britney's bipolar disorder or anything. (Oops!) She's funny and personable, and has won me over as an impressed movie fan.

Vaseline Skin Is Amazing Event

Now we know that Amanda was in New York yesterday, February 12, for an event hosted by Vaseline.

The event was held to officially announce Sarah Michele Gellar as the mystery celebrity. She's joining other spokespersons Jacqueline Bisset, John Leguizamo,Dave Navarro, and of course Amanda to celebrate their bare skin portraits at an exhibit in New York.



These one-of-a-kind autographed photos (like the one Amanda signed and is holding above of her legs) are now being auctioned off on eBay, Ebay.com/Vaseline, to benefit The Coalition of Skin Diseases. Other photos include past campaign participates such as Hilary Duff, Kim Raver, Regina King and Laila Ali.

Amanda's work out routine

Fitness Magazine asked Amanda what she does to exercise in their December 2007 issue.

I don't work out that often but when I do, I do the treadmill for 40 minutes and that's about it. I'm heavier than I've ever been right now but I'm blossoming into womanhood. I would never have the dedication like Jessica Alba; I wish I did -- my body does not look like hers. I would like to have more muscle and be cut. But I think your body will be what it's going to be. If I had to be in a bikini all the time I'd be doing the ab exercises. I'm not so obsessed with it.

I love that Amanda isn't obsessed with her looks like other celebrities. I don't think anyone could say she doesn't look good the way she is.

Fan wins Dear Shopping Spree

February's issue of Cosmo Girl features a fan going on a shopping spree with Amanda in New York city.

Krista Keeney, a 21-year-old from South Point, recently had a nice weekend filled with a road trip, shopping and a chance to hang out with new friends.

For most, just that would be enough. But for Keeney, the road trip was a whirlwind trip to New York City, the shopping was a spree at Manhattan's Steve & Barry's and the new friend was "Hairspray" and "Sydney White" actress Amanda Bynes.

"I had food in my mouth when I found out, and I almost choked I was so surprised," said Keeney, the daughter of Terry Keeney and Colleen Keeney. "I never thought I would actually win something like this."

For two days, she explored New York City, went on a shopping spree with Bynes and even garnered a photo shoot for the February issue of CosmoGIRL!.
