The topic of Britney Spears and her crazy behavior was on everyone's mind at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Amanda had this to say, as reported by Forbes:
I think that this business just does weird things to people, and I think that it's sad," Bynes said. "They get wrapped up in the hoopla and the hair and the makeup, the shopping, the paparazzi and the trying to be famous. That's not what it's about. It's about doing what you love.

Amanda will attend the Palm Springs International film festival this Saturday, January 5. According to My Desert:
The Board of Trustees of the Palm Springs International Film Festival has announced the field of stars who will present the awards at Saturday's festival gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
The Jan. 5 gala is presented by Cartier and hosted by Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight.
Stockard Channing will present the cast of Hairspray, including John Travolta, Nikki Blonsky, Allison Janney, Amanda Bynes, Zac Efron, Brittany Snow and Elijah Kelley, with the Ensemble Performance Award.
Adam Shankman and Ricki Lake (the original Tracy Turnblad) will present Blonsky with the Rising Star Award, and with Laura Linney presenting Emile Hirsch with the Rising Star Award.

...All the amazing supporting performances were sadly overshadowed. At least in the marketing of the film. And so it was a pleasure to be legitimately bowled over by the strong work of Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes and James Marsden. Bynes, in particular, could be someone to watch as the movie musical continues its renaissance. Hairspray uncovered enough talent and screen presence to warrant a leading-player part, and soon.
